02:51 pm - All my bags are packed....
Well, not yet, really. I just got my tickets to come down to Florida... I will be down Thursday, September 22 - Monday, September 26! Kind of a short time, but hopefully will get lots of "visiting time" in. Not much else doing here... brought the baby to the zoo today... pretty cool place - you can actually WALK AROUND WITH THE ANIMALS and feed them, pet them, etc... the baby had a blast there! That's about it for now... ttfn.

11:45 am - Some people are just so stupid
First, a little background. Opie and Anthony are shock jocks from the New York area (now available on XM Satellite). They are big on stunts, and the current one is "Assault on the Media" where they go around town to various "live shots" and harrass the reporter by displaying signs, fingers, whatever. This one got the reporter fired - what a putz. Check it out.

One of the girls who's on Atkins here told me about this, and it piqued my curiousity enough that I just had to try it... it's actually pretty good...
take a coffee cup and put about 1 inch of half and half in. Then pour diet pepsi over it. Not a bad ice cream soda knockoff!

12:21 pm - American Idol wars
It's the big divide here in the office! The Carrie camp, and the Bo camp... seems (real shocker here) divided on gender lines. People are also having way too much fun with Photoshop in reaction to all this stuff too!
Very quiet here today. A lot of people are out of the office at meetings, so I can get lots of stuff done - uninterrupted!
I'm trying to plan the next trip down... I'm thinking the end of August most likely. Gotta wait until Southwest unleashes more $49 fares!

10:52 am - First weekend back working
Here I am just as if I had never left. 5 hour shift today... not too bad, but I kinda like vacation better... already thinking about the next one. Went out with friends last night... tonight it's TV night to watch Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. I normally don't watch the show, but the house they're doing is like 20 minutes from me, so it might be somewhat of interest... we'll see.

What is the point of vacation, anyway? You work double and triple hard 2 weeks prior to get ahead, go away for a week, then work twice as hard when you get back cleaning up the mini-disaster that was created while you were gone. I guess I need to figure out a way to be independently wealthy so I can retire and not worry about this employment crap! It is pretty cool to get back on a Thursday, work half a day... work Friday, and then have a weekend!

08:41 am - last day of vacation
Not looking forward to going back to reality tomorrow... not that reality is all that bad, but worse than vacationing for sure!
Went out for a bit last night, then came home and watched American Idol - I still think Carrie is going to win... we'll see!

11:37 pm - weekend wrapup
Was a really cool weekend... Friday - had a special Shabbat family service and dinner with my parents at the temple - amazingly enough, Amanda sat through the whole thing with nothing more than 1 good toss of her stuffed bunny into the row in front of us - a pretty good deal if you ask me! Saturday went up to Boynton to visit my brother and his wife, and see their new house and boat. Sunday was really cool - somewhat of a family reunion for Mother's day... then Denny's with ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) samsynn and pharris. Hung out with samsynn and pharris tonight for dinner, Family Guy and Nanny 911. 2 more days til reality!

08:18 am - OK, I have been convinced
I am visiting Florida for a much needed vacation, and some time with the family who lives here. Hung out at Starbucks with pharris, erikachaya, samsynn, th3ch3at, kerilynn47, danish3, otsep. The livejournal conversation inspired me to start mine, so here goes! Thanks, guys, for making me feel welcome, it was a lot of fun... although I wish someone would've warned me about the hot chocolate!! th3ch3at, and kerilynn47, congrats on the baby she is beautiful, and WILL get much easier to deal with (mine is 2 so I know there is light at the end of the tunnel!). It's unfortunately a very long tunnel, and a very dim light - but a vast improvement. danish3 and otsep, your baby is beautiful as well, and you can attest to the light, right?
Still have a few more days in Florida, then back to reality!
Today it's off to my Grandmother's place for Mother's day - 4 generations in one room will be very cool - lots of photo ops!
